Index of the Olympians - This website has
an index of the gods and a brief description of each
The Odyssey There are many
books that are just hard to understand. Example: You'll read
a page in record time, (as you've probably got 10 more to read) until
you slap yourself in the head and realize you didn't understand one
thing you just read. The following links are a reference, it would be
wise to skim over the "notes" on a chapter, THEN read it.
Though some may call this "cheating" its actually a very effective
method of studying. However, it is strongly discouraged to only skim
the notes and not read the book, because frankly, the notes aren't perfect.
Also, beware: Some of these are links to
SparkNotes, which uses a different translation than
the ones most commonly used in High School classes. The chapter summaries
are links to PinkMoney, which uses yet another translation.
SparkNotes uses Robert Fagles's translation, whereas
what PinkMonkey uses is a mystery, all they note is:
"Edited by Diane Sauder". If you have a clue to which translation
they use, please, let us know.
As to explain the "Prime Picks".
In lack of better words, Prime Pick means that this resource is a very
useful one.

Plot Overview - This is great for getting
an idea of the book so you can expect what to see
Character list - Make sure you know every
one of these characters, (mainly the major ones) before you take
your test. If you can't briefly describe these people, then you've
got to hit the books, or read the handy description this link
gives you on each character.
Odyssey text online - This contains the full
book online, the catch is its translated by Samuel Butler,
so it may not be the same as used in many classrooms. However,
if you don't have access (people are so forgetful!) to your "in
class" book, the ideas will be the same.
Discovery Channel Investigation - This search on the discovery
channel website is always interesting. "Did you know the Trojan
war was the first example of 'biological warfare?". This one
won't help you at all with the book, so if its the night before
the test, skip this one.
Trojan Horse Image Search - This is a google image search for
the infamous trojan horse. If you're wondering what it is, then
this is a quick way to find out.. visually!
